Dear Valued Clients,

Effective March 23, 2020, we began implementing Tele-Rehabilitation for our MVA and WSIB clients. This has been working well, allowing 1:1 interaction between our qualified professionals and our clients using an encrypted video conferencing platform.

It has allowed for continuity of care in circumstances where clinic visits are not possible. It has been an honour to continue to provide education, instruction/teaching, demonstration and to be able to respond to changes in a client's condition in the moment with timely, relevant clinical advice.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to proceed unpredictably, we want to assure our community that their health and wellness is of primary importance to us. We are now expanding our service provision to provide Tele-rehabilitation to all our existing clients, as appropriate, and new clients who may have had recent injury or surgery that requires a rehabilitative approach.

If you require our professional services, please do not hesitate to contact us through our email portal link, or by telephone. We are here to help you get through this! If you have a scheduled appointment at Point of Balance Physiotherapy in the month of April 2020, consider your appointment postponed. We will keep you informed regarding our re-opening date (tentatively May 4, 2020) contact you to reschedule at that time. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Here at Point of Balance Physiotherapy Ltd, our physiotherapists have received comprehensive training in gait analysis technology through The Orthotic Group. Their combined knowledge of foot biomechanics, gait analysis interpretation as well as extensive clinical expertise in assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions affords them the ability to prescribe, fit and dispense custom foot orthotics designed to meet the needs of individual clients.

The GaitScanTM system is an innovative diagnostic tool and digital casting device that allows our knowledgeable staff to analyze the biomechanics of gait. Pressure mapping data in both static (standing) and dynamic (walking) stance provides valuable information about alignment, weight-bearing ratios and response to gravitational forces. This allows for more accurate prescription and design of custom foot orthotics. We also use semi-weight bearing sub-talar neutral foam impressions to manufacture foot orthotics.

Custom molded foot orthotics are generally recommended to improve foot mechanics, influence and correct the amount of motion that occurs around the joints of the foot and decrease pain while adding support. Dynamic alteration of lower limb mechanics and gait through orthoses may also help in the correction of pathologic conditions other than those of the foot and ankle, such as back, hip, or knee malalignment or pain.

Our orthotics are produced with specificity and attention to detail and our brand name footwear have proven to be in a class apart in terms of comfort, and design. Our physiotherapists would be pleased to discuss our orthotic assessment process and pricing options with you. We are familiar with the requirements of most Extended Health Benefits and our administrative staff would be happy to address your concerns or questions in this regard.
